From Spreadsheet to Mobile App: Engineering an Automated Healthcare Telemetry System

Write-up:

I just wrapped up the end-to-end development of a custom mobile healthcare application designed to optimize shift logging and data collection for multi-caregiver environments.

Built leveraging AppSheet, the application transforms raw, relational data structures into an intuitive, high-adoption mobile interface.

Key Architecture Highlights:

Relational Data Integrity: Tied a centralized Medicines_Master database directly to transactional logging tables via dynamic key constraints.

UI/UX Optimization for Field Users: Engineered high-contrast Enum buttons and custom icon-based navigation to maximize logging speed and minimize user error on mobile devices.

Automated Computation: Implemented live backend formulas to calculate multi-metric fluid intakes automatically, removing manual computation risks.

Event-Driven Automations: Programmed background bots with conditional validation logic ([BP_Systolic] > 140) to trigger real-time alert pipelines when vitals anomaly states are detected.

Seeing the complete data pipeline successfully ingest test entries directly into a clean, structured database in real-time is an awesome milestone. Low-code engineering paired with event-driven automation is an incredibly potent toolkit for solving real-world operational bottlenecks.

Would love to hear how others are utilizing low-code tools to solve critical operational workflows in your domains!
